Years ago I lived in a well water community & we had a water softener & it was fine. We are going to be moving to a town with well water and now I see there are “electronic water conditioners/descalers” that claim to do the samething without the salt. I haven’t found a whole lot of reviews of them online. Any insight from anyone that has one or tried one?

In the 80s these were clamp on magnets, now they are electromagnets.
They were bogus in the 80s, and most likely are today, with the LED lights on the little box to make them look hi tech.
The softener is tried and proven over the last 60 or so years.
