I don’t want to spend $6000.00 for, let’s say, a Kinetico. But are the ones you get at the home improvement stores any good. We have hard water in Nevada and I want to protect appliances and pipes and such.

I am currently looking at Kinetico and LifeSource…. not sure if anyone has had experience with either?? Or if there are other companies??! Any input would be much appreciated! We didn’t install a loop in our home, since we weren’t told it was an option… and aren’t keen on the idea of tearing down walls to install one..

We have a Kinetico water softener system (Mach 2060s) that uses a 20 inch by 2-1/2 inch filter, but I was wondering if somebody sells a granular activated carbon (GAC) filter that would work in this system, so we can filter out radon. There’s a lot of water that comes out of the whole house water filtration system when it cleans itself. Mine is made by Kinetico and it’s comes with 2 filter tanks and 1 softener tank. Can I water plants with that water? It is safe for lawn and other plant life? I hate to see all that water go to waste.
